The Prince’s Trust helps unemployed young people build solid foundations with Get into Construction programme

16 December 2011

Sixteen unemployed young people recently celebrated their graduation from The Prince’s Trust’s Get into Construction programme with six completing work placements with Farrans (Construction) Limited.

The six week Programme offers pre-employment skills development, accredited training and qualifications to young people who want to forge careers in the construction industry.

Eamonn Sweeney, Managing Director with Farran’s (Construction) Limited said,

“This partnership with the Prince’s Trust is just one of the ways in which construction companies can indicate their long term commitment to social responsibility in the communities in which they work.  To see first-hand the life changing results for the young people involved in the Programme is inspiring.  I was grateful to our many site staff who went that extra step and offered voluntary mentoring to the young people and in doing so, further encouraged them to make the most of new opportunities.”

Ian Jeffers, Director of Prince’s Trust in Northern Ireland congratulated the graduates and thanked Farrans (Construction) Limited and other members of the Construction Leadership Group.
